Smart Escape AR App
In late 2017 and early 2018, we designed and prototyped an augmented reality app for Allstate. Intended to be an experience living within Allstate's flagship app, users could plan and map an escape route from their home in the event of an emergency. The AR capabilities allowed users to draw and follow the map through their home in real time. The routes were shareable and could help educate family members so everyone knew the plan. Below, you'll find the logo, user journeys, designs and videos of the prototypes. We handed designs and code off to Allstate's internal team and in October 2018, they launched Allstate Mobile's Escape Route, a version of the experience.

User Journeys
Our MVP accounted for three initial user journeys: 1) creating a route, 2) reviewing a route and 3) sharing a route.
Designs
MVP designs accounted for users launching the experience from within Allstate's flagship app, starting with a high-level educational onboarding and completing the three primary functions of creating a route, reviewing a route and sharing a route.

Prototypes
As progress was made in development, we'd capture video of the current prototype state to share with clients. Additionally, we created a prototype to add a layer of design fidelity to help give context for how the product would ultimately come to life.
At this point in development, we'd figured out how to get the line to lock to the floor, which was a key hurdle in creating a user-friendly route experience. Additionally, we'd solved for occlusion by only displaying a portion of the route as the user walked along it, meaning they didn't have to look at routes that went through walls.
We created an additional prototype to show our vision for styling the route line within the final experience.
